Motor City FC Partners with Pontiac School District

In a breakthrough partnership between Motor City Football Club and the Pontiac School District, soccer is coming to the city “where the world comes to play.” Michigan Stars/Motor City FC Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ned Fawaz, and Michigan Stars/Motor City FC President, Shereef Akeel, met before the trustees of the Pontiac School District, representative from the State of Michigan Department of Education, the Superintendent for all Pontiac public schools, and coaches from the school district.

The community has shown great support for the Michigan Stars and Motor City FC organizations as they prepare to move to the historic Wisner Stadium for all home games. Local pastors, children from Pontiac youth clubs and soccer coaches in the area have expressed their anticipation for high-quality men’s and women’s soccer in Pontiac.  As a gesture of respect and support for the Pontiac community, Dr. Fawaz announced that Michigan Stars and Motor City FC will donate funds to help pay for uniforms for the Pontiac High School football team. The partnership between the teams and the community will create a family-friendly atmosphere this summer and beyond.

Michigan Stars FC and Motor City FC will play back-to-back double header games all season long, with opening matches on May 17th at Wisner Stadium (441 Cesar E Chavez Ave, Pontiac, MI 48342).
