Two of the top soccer clubs in the nation are coming to Pontiac this summer. Michigan Stars FC and Motor City FC feature the best current college players and aspiring professionals in the Midwest and beyond. The Stars play in the NPSL, which is considered the 4th level of men’s competition in the U.S. Soccer pyramid. Motor City plays in the WPSL, which is considered the 2nd level of women’s competition in the U.S. Soccer pyramid.
Both teams will take the field at the historic Wisner stadium, which was once used as a practice field for the 1994 World Cup. The facility has gone under significant renovation in an effort to become a centerpiece for the community in Pontiac. The teams will play back-to-back doubleheaders for all home games. Partnerships with youth clubs and local restaurants will make for a family-friendly, action-packed atmosphere for summer nights at Wisner. Children under 13 years old are welcome to all games, free of charge. Bring the whole family!
The Motor City women’s team kicks off their first match at Wisner Stadium against the Columbus Eagles at 4:00 PM. The Stars men’s team takes the field against AFC Cleveland at 7:00 PM.
