Niki Reed, recently signed a professional contract with the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). The NWSL is the nation’s highest women’s professional league.
Reed, a midfielder and product of Michigan’s Vardar Soccer Club, Lake Orion High School, and the University of Illinois, who spent the preseason with Motor City Football Club (MCFC), commented on her time with MCFC, saying, “Motor City’s top-notch coaching staff and superb organization helped provide me with the necessary tools to make it at the next level.”
Skipper Mukhtar, head coach of MCFC, said, “Niki was a foundational player for our club and she will be missed. She spent the preseason with us and we are proud to support her dream of playing professional soccer.”
MCFC competes in the WPSL, the nation’s second highest women’s soccer league. MCFC plays its home games at Livonia Churchill High School beginning in May.
