In a breakthrough partnership between Michigan Stars Football Club and the Pontiac School District, soccer is coming to the city “where the world comes to play.” Michigan Stars Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ned Fawaz, and Michigan Stars President, Shereef Akeel, met before the trustees of the Pontiac School District, representative from the State of Michigan Department of Education, the Superintendent for all Pontiac public schools, and coaches from the school district.
Two of the top soccer clubs in the nation are coming to Pontiac this summer. Michigan Stars FC and Motor City FC feature the best current college players and aspiring professionals in the Midwest and beyond. The Stars play in the NPSL, which is considered the 4th level of men’s competition in the U.S. Soccer pyramid. Motor City plays in the WPSL, which is considered the 2nd level of women’s competition in the U.S. Soccer pyramid.
